What we believe
Word of God
We believe the Bible to be the inspired Word of God and the final authority on matters of faith and conduct.
(2 Timothy 3:16-17; Psalms 19:7-9; 1 Corinthians 2:13; 2 Timothy 3:15-17; 2 Peter 1:20, 21).
The Godhead
We believe in one God, eternally existing in three equally divine persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. They possess the same nature, attributes, and perfections and are equal in power, love, mercy, justice, holiness, knowledge, and all other qualities.
(Matthew 28:19, 20; Mark 12:29; John 1:1-4; Acts 5:3, 4; 2 Corinthians 13:14).
God the Son
We believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God. We believe that He was conceived by the Holy Spirit, was born of the virgin Mary, was fully man while retaining His divinity, lived a sinless human life, and offered Himself as the perfect sacrifice for the sins of all men by dying on a cross. We believe He was buried and physically rose again on the third day, and ascended to Heaven where is now seated at the Father’s right hand, where He intercedes on the believer’s behalf, and He will come again a second time for His Church to establish His Kingdom.
(Luke 1:34-35; 24:27; John 1:1, 2, 14, 18; Romans 3:24-26; 8:34).
God the Holy Spirit
We believe that the Holy Spirit is equal in deity to the Father and the Son, who convicts the world of sin, performs the miracle of new birth, unites all believers to Christ in one body by His baptizing ministry, indwells them permanently, seals them unto the day of redemption, empowers them for service, and grants them gifts of grace (charismatic gifts) to build up the Church.
(John 3:5-8; 14:16-17; 16:7-11; 16:13-14; Acts 1:8; 1 Corinthians 12:13; Ephesians 4:30; 5:18).
Man
We believe God created man in His image, and Adam and Eve were created in perfection. Through Satan’s temptation, they fell from their original perfection into sin. All humans are sinners, fall short of God’s standard of perfection, and are consequently under God’s judgment. The only remedy for sin is personal salvation through faith in Jesus Christ.
(Genesis 1:27; Psalm 8:3-6; Isaiah 53:6a; Romans 3:23; Isaiah 59:1).
Salvation
We believe that personal faith in the person and work of Jesus Christ as the Son of God is the only path to Salvation, and the only remedy for man’s fallen condition and that eternal life is found only in Him. It cannot be earned or achieved by human works but is freely given to all who put their faith in Jesus and in the work He accomplished on the Cross.
We believe all who confess with their mouth that “Jesus is Lord”, and believe in their heart that God raised Jesus from the dead, are forgiven of their sins, accepted by the Father, and born into His family by the regenerating work of the Holy Spirit.
(Romans 10:9-10; John 5:24; Ephesians 1:6-7; 2:8, 9; Titus 3:5; 1 Peter 1:23).
The Gifts of The Spirit
We believe in the gifts of the Spirit as listed in 1 Cor 12:1-31. Every Christian has the opportunity operate in the gifts of the spirit, demonstrations of the Spirit, and power. We believe that enabling gifts are bestowed according to God’s own will upon all believers by the Spirit of God to be exercised for the edification of the Church and for the glory of the Lord. These gifts are sovereignly bestowed by God in order to fulfill his purposes.
(Romans 8:23; 1 Corinthians 12:4-11; 27-31; 13:8-10; 14:21,22; 2 Corinthians 12:7-9; Ephesians 4:7-13; Hebrews 2:3,4; 1 Peter 4:10,11; 2 Timothy 4:20).
The Church
We believe that all who have placed their faith in Christ are united by the Holy Spirit into one spiritual body, the Church, of which Christ is the Head. This body was formed on the day of Pentecost and will be completed at the coming of Christ. The members of this one spiritual body are directed to associate themselves together for instruction, worship, prayer, fellowship, service, and the administration of the ordinances of baptism and the Lord’s Supper. They are likewise to maintain the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace.
(Matthew 28:19; Acts 2:42-47; 1 Corinthians 11:23-26; 12:13; Ephesians 1:22, 23; 4:3).
Sacraments
We believe there are two ordinances for the Church:
a) Baptism. The believer’s response of repentance and faith towards God is expressed in the initiatory rite of believer’s baptism by immersion. Baptism symbolizes the believer’s union with Christ, experienced by the believer in dying to sin and rising to newness of life.
b) The Lord’s Supper. In the Lord’s Supper the bread represents the broken body of Christ and the wine represents the shed blood of Christ. In this repeated ordinance the believer’s participation in the salvation of Christ is expressed in the receiving of the bread and wine.
The Great Commission
We believe in each person becoming an active member of the local church to fulfill the great commission, to “go and make disciples of all nations” by spreading the gospel in our local communities and beyond.
(Matthew 28:16-20).
The Spirit Realm
We believe in the existence of the spiritual realm, angels, and demons, heaven and hell, the Devil, and God’s judgment destining him and his fallen angels to the Lake of Fire. We believe in the resurrection of the saved to eternal life, and the lost to eternal separation from God in hell.
(Matthew 25:41; Revelation 20:14-15; John 5:24; John 3:16,36; Mark 9:43-48; 2 Thessalonians 1:8-9; Revelation 20:10-15).
The Five-Fold Ministry
We believe in the five-fold ministry of apostles, prophets, evangelists, pastors (shepherds), and teachers, and its purpose, “to prepare God’s people for works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up until we all reach unity in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God and become mature, attaining to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ.”
(Ephesians 4:11-13).
Baptism of the Holy Spirit
We believe The Baptism of the Holy Spirit brings enduement of power for life and service, the bestowment of gifts and their uses in the work of ministry, and is distinct from and after the experience of the New Birth. The experience of Baptism was not limited to the day of Pentecost but is still available to all believers. The Baptism of the Holy Spirit is described as a gift and therefore is not deserved or earned but is received by seekers who ask. Speaking in tongues is a common manifestation of the Baptism of The Holy Spirit, and we believe it is available for believers to speak in other tongues as the Spirit enables.

Water Baptism
We Believe Water Baptism symbolises the beginning of spiritual life and the identification with Jesus in his death and resurrection. It is intended to be a public declaration in which open witness is made to the community. It is not the water itself that saves us, but what the water represents, that the resurrection of Jesus Christ shows that God has accepted Christ’s Sacrifice on our behalf and in our place. It is the blood of Jesus, not the water of Baptism that brings us cleansing and forgiveness because, by his blood, we are Justified, our consciences are cleansed, and we are redeemed.
(Romans 5:9; Heb 9:14; 1 Pet 1:19; Rom 6:1-4; Matt 28:19; Mark 16:16; Acts 8:12; 16:31).
Divine Healing
We believe that the works of healing and deliverance are provided for through the work of Jesus on the Cross. Divine healing is an integral part of the Gospel and the ministry of Jesus and is included in Jesus’ commission to His disciples and is the privilege of all believers.
(Ps. 103:2,3; Isa. 53:5; Matt. 8:16,17; Mark 16:17,18; Acts 8:6,7; Rom 11:29; I Cor. 12:9,28; Jas 5:14-16).
The Priesthood Of All Believers
We believe that all Christians share in Christ’s priestly status, and are called “kings and priests” and are part of a “royal priesthood”, because of their union with Christ and that Christ has come and fulfilled the priestly role for us through his life, death, and resurrection. Therefore, Christ was the final priestly mediator between God and his people, and we share in that role through him. No other earthly mediator is necessary. All Christians are equally priests through Christ and can come boldly before the throne of grace and are called by God to serve Him by offering up spiritual sacrifices.
Core Values
We were sent! After many years at Kingscross, a great church in Subiaco, a core group was planted into Scarborough to enlarge the gospel footprint in the city. Same values, different expression. We’re an unsophisticated bunch, who believe that all of life stems from and revolves around Jesus, that His Word (the bible) is absolutely true and that he determines History, and we have the privilege to play a part in it. Our core values determine our meetings. We have a passion for worship, the bible, connecting together and for touching our community. This is lived out through Sunday morning meetings, midweek homegroups & everyday community connect activities. We relate to a group of apostolic men, church master builders, who hold us accountable and keep us connected to what is happening around the world. We relate to an international family of churches and work together to establish and build churches in every city, town and village across the world.

We are passionate about the nations. Going is essential – for some its to the nations, and for some its going next door.
